Newcastle Civic Centre

4 March 2014

I was walking through the grounds of the Civic Centre at just the right time to catch the late-afternoon sun hitting the building - it's 60s architecture throws down some pretty impressive shadow patterns and the low sun really highlights the textures in the concrete.

I snapped this shot off quickly with my phone then post-processed with the basic Android 'photo gallery' app - I'm fairly impressed with the end result for such a low-tech approach, though I can't help but think the photo would be massivly improved with a shallow depth of field to drop the background focus back.  I might go back with my 'big' camera at some point and explore a little more.
