About Me

Professional Life

I graduated from university in 2001 with a 2:1 in Media Technology and Production and began work as a web developer shortly afterwards. I've been involved in the web industry ever since, holding positions with various organisations, completing a wide variety of projects and growing my skills over time. I predominantly work with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP and mySQL and make use of tools such as jQuery, Sass and GIT.

I enjoy the challenges programming presents me with but I also like getting involved with the planning and design of projects, offering the benefit of the experiance I've gained over the course of my career.

Personal life

I live in Gateshead, just outside of Newcastle Upon Tyne and have lived in the region since I was 8, moving from my birthplace in the Midlands. I consider myself extremely lucky to have the wonderful Northumberland countryside and coastline so close and I try to take advantage of it as often as possible.

I enjoy photography and collecting old cameras, reading vintage comic books, baking my own bread and recently started running.

I'm a big fan of Sci-Fi and a sucker for all things Star Wars, but I also enjoy reading classic authors such as Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov and H.G Wells, and of course Douglas Adams.
